This is great, Gordon -- quite extensive.

I'd like to add some examples to the 'constrained...' section -- from  
RDA and FRAD. Is that ok? I think it'll help illustrate the issues.

Also, it would be great to point to diagrams for the various FR's if  
they are available online. A diagram is a good way to get a quick  
overview. I think the FRBR diagrams are available, I don't know about  
the others.
