The first release has just been published at www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/cplexicon and we will be promoting this to the practitioner community in Scotland for their reference, so that it serves its function in promoting common terminology. This first release is also the glossary to the just-published second edition of the England and Wales guidance - Emergency Response and Recovery. Several months ago it was agreed to focus on getting that glossary right, and then do a further phase to cover a wider range of civil protection terminology – which will then include Scotland specific terms. Work is also afoot to embed this into the National Resilience Extranet. If you would like to know any more about the Lexicon please feel free to contact me, or the author Rob MacFarlane at the Emergency Planni ng College. One of the participants scheduled to attend is Peter.Winstanley, who leads a semantic work group here in Scotland. I am taking this opportunity to invite, in bcc in this email, Emergency management professionals who attendend the Scottish Resilience workshop, listed here http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Resource/Doc/1096/0065262.pdf. I would be grateful if you could point anyone you think may be interested to this event, and ask them to get in touch with us to plan further activities Similarly, I think it may be useful to try to get some glossary work done from the Crisis Camp Community (crisiscamp.org) and that I will try to make some connections there too Speak soon -- Paola Di Maio ************************************************** Networked Research Lab, UK *************************************************** This email was received from the INTERNET and scanned by the Government Secure Intranet anti-virus service supplied by Cable&Wireless in partnership with MessageLabs.
