RE: First Telecon

Alistair, all,

unfortunately I will not be able to attend the meeting today due to personal reasons. I will call in to the next meeting (which will take place in two weeks time as I understand it).

My interest lies (as I've said in an earlier post) in full-duplex communication services. My belief is that the browser/web runtime will soon support this kind of services, and it is then important that it is possible to perform the associated Audio processing. This would mean in the simplest mono case stuff like noise supression and echo cancellation. However, more advanced use cases, especially for multi party sessions, would also involve 3D audio. The full-duplex communication use cases would pose at least these requirements:

* the microphone(s) can be an audio source
* it should be possible to perform processing on that signal (e.g. noise supression, find angle to source)
* rendering in a 3D space should be supported
* it should be possible to cancel aucoustic echo

If the group determines that the full-duplex communication use cases are in scope, I would be happy to contribute to develop them and to extract requirements.

Again, I am sorry that I can not attend today.

Best,
Stefan

Subject: First Telecon

Just wanted to remind everyone that the first telecon is this Monday at 17:00 UTC. More details can be found on the wiki: http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/audio/wiki/Audio_Incubator:Current_events

If you could join the IRC channel 10-15 minutes prior to the telecon, we can make sure everyone who plans to attend gets dialed in to the right place prior to kick-off.

Looking forward to meeting everyone,

Al
