I have done this. See: https://www.w3.org/community/xformsusers/wiki/XForms_2.0#The_label_Property and the following sections, and https://www.w3.org/community/xformsusers/wiki/XForms_2.0#Common_Support_Elements However, in doing this I realised that the UI Common attribute set also contains label, help, hint, and alert, so I removed that set from Control Common (which now has them in the Properties set.) However, there are 5 other elements that also have UI Common (and no binding): item itemset case dialog form It seems wrong to continue calling the set UI Common. Rename, or treat differently? Steven
