ISSUE-109: Should there be recommendations against favicons? [Techniques] http://www.w3.org/2006/WSC/track/issues/ Raised by: Thomas Roessler On product: Techniques Actual implementation work currently assumes that favicons remain in primary chrome, and might (e.g. for firefox) be used as the widget that users interact with to raise an identity signal. The spec currently says that favicons are a positively bad idea. This sounds like we might have new information to consider on this point, or at least need to understand the reasons for the divergence.
