Hi all, at our telcon yesterday, we discussed what the working group could recommend as the next steps after SAWSDL is finished. Here is a summary of the points that were raised: 1. Semantic annotations for WS-Policy (SAWSDL-style hooks) 2. Preconditions and effects, something between simple hooks and a full logical framework 3. An ontology for SWS concepts, created in cooperation especially between the WSMO and OWL-S communities 4. The W3C could hold another Workshop on Semantics for Web Services, like the one two years ago [1] 5. Cooperation between a working group and the SWS Testbed incubator group [2] [1] http://www.w3.org/2005/04/FSWS/workshop-report.html [2] http://www.w3.org/2005/Incubator/swsc/ Points 1,2,3 are concrete pieces of further work; they may be handled initially in incubator groups, or with Members creating submission specs which could then be taken up by a Working Group. Organization of another workshop (point 4) and then turning its results into actual work tasks would take significant time, yet this can proceed in parallel with the other steps. Point 5 basically suggests that the SWS Testbed incubator group could test various approaches and submit those that work to a Working Group which could take this work up, of course within the scope of some charter. I encourage everyone to discuss these points, or add to them, in this mailing list thread. I will especially send a pointer to it to the SWS-IG. Best regards, Jacek
