A list of substantive changes in Web Services Policy - Framework 1.5 [1] and Web Services Policy - Attachment 1.5 [2] since the WS-Policy Member Submission (1.2) [3] is given below. WG members are asked to comment on this list if they feel it is incorrect. Framework 1) Added support for the xml:id attribute (see 4.2 Policy Identification [4]). 2) Added a conformance section - 6. Conformance [5]. 3) Replaced URI with IRI. 4) Enhanced 5. Security Considerations [6] (new content is from the Security Considerations Section in the Understanding WS-Policy [7] MSDN white paper). 5) Clarified that an unrecognized element within a policy expression MUST be an assertion (see 2.2 Extensibility [8]). 6) Clarified that policy assertion parameters are opaque to framework processing (see 4.3.2 Policy Assertion Nesting [9]). 7) Added element extensibility (via {Any}) to the PolicyReference element (see 4.3.4 Policy References [10]). 8) Added a new feature: 4.4 Ignorable Policy Assertions [11]. 9) Defined an XML Media Type to describe Web Service Policy documents serialized as XML in Appendix A. The application/wspolicy+xml Media Type [12]. Attachment 1) Added a conformance section - 8. Conformance [13]. 2) Replaced URI with IRI. 3) Added a new section - 5. WS-Policy Attachment for WSDL 2.0 [14] - that describes a mechanism for associating policy expressions with Web service constructs in WSDL 2.0. 4) Added a new domain expression: 3.4.1 URI Domain Expression [15].
