Thanks for your comment. The WS Description Working Group tracked this issue as a CR004 [1]. The Working Group does not see a need for an <appInfo> element, as WSDL (unlike schema) is extensible at arbitrary points. The benefits of <appInfo> over an open model are not apparent, despite having this paradigm deployed in XML Schema for some time now. Unless you let us know otherwise by 13 April, we will assume you agree with the resolution of this issue. [1] http://www.w3.org/2002/ws/desc/5/cr-issues/#CR004 [ Jonathan Marsh ][ jmarsh@microsoft.com ][ http://spaces.msn.com/auburnmarshes ] we have an open content model and the benefits of a closed model+appinfo have are not apparent (even after several years of deployment of this model in XSD). -----Original Message----- From: www-ws-desc-request@w3.org [mailto:www-ws-desc-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of Ramkumar Menon Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 10:18 PM To: www-ws-desc@w3.org Subject: <appInfo> for the WSDL Would it be good to have an explicit <appInfo> for the <documentation> node for the WSDL 2.0 document ? -- Shift to the left, shift to the right!
