Meeting minutes

  Minutes

   [7]Sep-1

   McCool: looks fine
   … any objections?

   (none)

   approved

  Logistics

   [8]Plugfest/Testfest page for TPAC

      [8] https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/tree/main/events/2021.09.Online

   McCool: will we have VPN?

   Kaz: should be still available
… we can re-use the instruction for the March Plugfest/Testfest

   McCool: ok
… (give some summary information to Matsuda-san)
… VPN provided instead of local network
   … useful for testing

Matsuda: how the IP addresses are allocated within the VPN
   network?

   [9]VPN instruction

      [9] https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/tree/main/tools/vpn

McCool: (gives some explanation based on the above instruction)

[10]IP address assignment in the past

     [10] https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/blob/main/tools/vpn/ip.csv

Toumura: some configuration for SoftEther server may need to be
   updated
   … need to check

McCool: could you help for that?

Toumura: don't have the root account myself

Kaz: thought we had consult with the Systeam, and gave the root
account to Toumura-san at some point
… but haven't you got one?

   Toumura: no...

Kaz: let's check with the Systeam again then

McCool: another point is a possible gateway using Raspberry PI

   [11]network setting for TPAC 2020

     [11] https://github.com/w3c/wot-testing/tree/main/events/2020.09.Online

McCool: the question is whether you want to get connected
   directly or via a gateway

Kaz: we need to clarify the network setting in general
… and think we need Toumura-san's help
… will work with him and ask the Systeam for help

   McCool: right
… we should clarify who wants to get connected the VPN or the
   Internet, etc.

Action: kaz to make sure Toumura-san gets root access for the
   VPN service for Plugfest

Kaz: btw, who would participate in the Plugfest/Testfest for
   TPAC 2021?

McCool: think, Toumura-san, Matsuda-san, myself (McCool) and
   Koster at least
… should clarify who would join the Testfest part and who would
   join the Plugfest part
… and also what project to be checked

   Kaz: right
… who would be on the client side and who would be on the
   device side

Matsuda: regarding ECHONET, not myself but somebody from
ECHONET will participate in the Plugfest
… I can be the contact point, though

   McCool: ok
   … what about you, Toumura-san?

Toumura: no plan for extending the nodeRED client
… but can check the connectivity with the other entities based
   on the existing implementation

McCool: any discussion on the opensource project?

   Toumura: not yet

McCool: how about trying mDNS + TDD queries?
   … would be useful
… for retail use cases as well

Toumura: happy to work on the possible implementation in the
   future
… but currently don't have enough time

Kaz: so we should see what we can

Toumura: yes, a client based on node generator
… not sure we can publish it as opensource software at the
   moment, though

   Kaz: ok
… so let's put our proposals on the GH page, and check with the
listed people to see what's possible

   McCool: yes, let's do so

Matsuda: is it possible for you to join the ECHONET project and
   provide a client?

Toumura: yes, I'm happy to do so

   Kaz: great
… let's list all the possible entities including both the
client (=consumer) side and the device (=producer) side like
   McCool is doing now :)
… and let's see the possible combination on which client to be
connected with which device next week including some more
   participants
… confirming Toumura-san is OK with getting connected with the
   ECHONET device is great

   McCool: ok
… (then creates some more additional sub-directories for
Testfest, e.g., Discovery and Profiles, in addition to TD)

Kaz: btw, how should we test the specs like Architecture,
Discovery and Profiles other than TD?

   McCool: good question
   … TD is straightforward
… we can check the generated TDs themselves
… regarding Architecture, we need to check the assertions
   manually
… regarding Discovery, may need to schema, etc.
… still need to think about the procedure

Matsuda: I have yet another question on the logistics
… need clarification about the time

Toumura: 9am EDT is 10pm JST

   Matsuda: ok
… btw, is it ok to forward the webex information to the
   engineers working on our implementations?

   McCool: sure
… also we can exchange information by email as well

   Matsuda: ok
