Hi all, In the WoT IG/WG meeting on 26th July we discussed <https://www.w3.org/2017/07/26-wot-minutes.html> starting work on an experimental plain JSON serialization of the Thing Description <https://w3c.github.io/wot-thing-description/> data model. While I was in London for Mozilla Festival I was fortunate to be able to meet face to face with Dominique Guinard and Vlad Trifa who worked on the Web Thing Model member submission and we took the opportunity to kick off this work with a joint proposal. The proposal builds on the Web Thing Model <http://model.webofthings.io/> member submission and Mozilla's Web Thing API <http://iot.mozilla.org/wot/> draft member submission to create a plain JSON serialization of the Thing Description <https://w3c.github.io/wot-thing-description/> data model being created by the WoT Working Group. I've submitted a pull request <https://github.com/w3c/wot/pull/363> with what we've come up with so far to get that conversation started and invite comments from the rest of the Interest Group. See here <https://benfrancis.github.io/wot/proposals/json-td/> for a rendered HTML version of this document. I've submitted this in time for TPAC next week in the hope that it might be discussed there, where two of my colleagues Kathy Giori and Andre Natal plan to attend. I'm very excited to get this going and look forward to your comments. Regards Ben
