I’ve just returned from the IoT TechExpo Europe in Berlin[1] This event reflects the huge interest internationally in the potential for the Internet of Things. There were over one hundred exhibitions spread over two floors, along with 5 tracks. I was one of the panelists in a session on creating a standards framework for IoT as part of the Developer and IoT Technologies track. I followed this with a talk on tackling data security and privacy challenges [2]. As we recharter the Web of Things Interest Group, the critical importance of security to the success of IoT services makes it an important area for the Interest Group. We’re therefore looking to companies to benefit from helping to drive the standards discussion around IoT security in the Interest Group. p.s. I posted a short blog entry, see [3].
