Also, it would mean that the following two pieces of code behaves differently: inp = document.createElement("input"); inp.setAttribute("value", "foo\nbar"); inp.setAttribute("type", "hidden"); and inp = document.createElement("input"); inp.setAttribute("type", "hidden");inp.setAttribute("value", "foo\nbar"); This does not seem desirable. / Jonas
