In fact, I would say that one very effective way to persue convergence between the two efforts would be to have at least the chairmen of the HTML working group participating in the WHATWG, and the spokesman of the WHATWG participating in the HTMLWG. This would show our respective members that the two groups do intend to cooperate in good faith. To show our commitment to this effort, as the WHATWG spokesman, I have started the process of joining the HTML working group.
