[whatwg] Web Applications 1.0 does not include <div>

Hello,
I see from the Wiki
[http://wiki.whatwg.org/wiki/HTML_vs._XHTML#Obsolete_Elements] that
the div element is currently obsolete. The spec itself does not
formally define the <div> element anywhere, although it mentions <div>
elements in a few processing rules. What is the status of this
element? I cannot find any discussion of its fate in the mailing list
archives.
