Interface guidelines usually cover dialog layout, particularly things like 
the size of labels, and also the spacing between labels and the control 
they're labelling (which is actually what I think mpt was talking about, 
rather than the former).

But this thread is getting - with great respect to the both of you - boring. 
Are we still talking about anything that's relevant to WHATWG? If so, I lost
