Dear members of the WebTransport Working Group, I'm relaying the announcement to the group's primary public mailing list to notify the group of its charter extension. Best regards, Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: WebTransport Working Group Charter Extended until 31 May 2024 Date: Wed, 24 Jan 2024 16:58:40 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to the group and to W3C group chairs] The WebTransport Working Group charter is hereby extended until 31 May 2024: https://www.w3.org/2023/01/webtransport-wg-charter.html The WebTransport Working Group, in collaboration with the IETF WebTransport Working Group, develops APIs that enable Web developers to make use of these new network capabilities, including possible fallback mechanisms to handle scenarios when a QUIC connection cannot be established. The group expects to advance its specification to Candidate Recommendation soon, and needs an extension to achieve its goal and work on a new charter. Implementations are already in progress. The initial draft of the new charter is at: https://w3c.github.io/charter-drafts/wt-2024.html Comments on the draft charter can be provided in GitHub: https://github.com/w3c/charter-drafts/ More information about the group can be found on its home page, including information about group Chairs, Staff Contact, and instructions for joining the group. https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/webtransport/ If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Yves Lafon at <ylafon@w3.org>. This extension follows section 4.5 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2023/Process-20231103/#charter-extension Thank you, For Philippe le Hegaret, W3C Strategy and Project Lead, Yves Lafon, WebTransport WG Staff Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications
