Re: W3C website redesign RFP

Dear Coralie and Gerald,

A brief overview and proposal suitable for distribution is attached. This is a wonderful project and we're glad to be considered. I have a deep and abiding affection for the W3C and have spent many days and nights reading over working group emails or paging through various standards (CSS and XSLT2 remain particular favorites).

We feel we could meet the requirements of the RFP well, and that the overall budget would be fine; we'd also be glad to flat-cost this engagement at $200k per the RFP. I think we'd be a good fit—we work well with NGOs and understand that you're serving a vast number of constituencies.

On accessibility: It's baked into Postlight. We're a client-service firm, so we can't dictate to our clients. But we always lead with accessibility[1] <https://postlight.com/trackchanges/making-the-case-for-accessibility> and actively push for it in our design work. We're also quite used to working in the open[2] <https://github.com/postlight/>.

Having just learned of this effort a few days ago, our proposal is a bit rushed, and we'd welcome a chance to internalize more of what you need and respond and talk more about your plans.

I realize the irony of sending a PDF to the W3C, although I would note that PDF is also a nicely established standard.

If there is any question I can answer please don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

Paul
