Re: CfC: publish FPWD of the Multi-Screen Window Placement API

Hi All,

This CfC passed with explicit support. This means the Multi-Screen Window Placement API specification will advance to the W3C Recommendation Track. Congratulations to all contributors on this milestone!

We’ll publish the First Public Working Draft at the earlier opportunity using the proposed shortname "window-placement” (that maps to https://www.w3.org/TR/window-placement/) to be consistent with the naming convention adopted for the Editor’s Draft.

In addition, per our earlier decision [1], we’ll set up automatic Working Draft publication for this specification so that any subsequent specification updates will trigger a new Working Draft publication deployed at the canonical URL (https://www.w3.org/TR/window-placement/) that is indexed high by many search engines.

We look forward to future developments for this specification!

Thanks,

-Anssi (Second Screen WG/CG co-chair)

Hi Second Screen WG,
FYI Second Screen CG,

This is a Call for Consensus to publish the Multi-Screen Window Placement API as a First Public Working Draft (FPWD) using the latest Editor’s Draft [1] as its basis per our vF2F resolution [2].

The Working Group believes this specification meets the applicable requirements for this advancement [3] and is ready to be published at the earliest opportunity following the group’s decision.

Please respond by 14 June 2022 if you have concerns regarding this planned publication.

Thanks,
