Open Screen Protocol 1.0 spec milestone reached

Hi Second Screen WG/CG,

I'm happy to report the Second Screen Community Group has reached a significant milestone by completing the first draft of the Open Screen Protocol 1.0 spec [1].

As you recall, the Open Screen Protocol is the basis for demonstrating interoperability of the Presentation API between multiple browsers and multiple second screen devices. This suite of network protocols enables the Second Screen Working Group to advance the Presentation API along the W3C Standards Track given adequate implementation experience of the API and the underlying protocols.

All - please see the meta issue [2] for the proposed Open Screen Protocol 1.0 evaluation plan and provide any feedback you may have. Similarly, please review the spec itself and report any issues.

We're expected to discuss and review the 1.0 spec at our May F2F with a goal to prepare the spec for wide review. Please remember to register to the F2F [3] by 9 May.

Congratulations to the group for this achievement with special thanks to Mark, Peter, Brandon, and other group participants who helped reach this milestone.

Thanks,

-Anssi (Second Screen WG/CG)
