Hello,
this group has a consistent problem with editors: We haven't found
anyone who really enjoys taking minutes, and spend significant time
looking for volunteers.
Stefan and I have chatted about this, and would like to float a proposal:
- We keep a list of the participants in the WG. Either "active"
participants, or all registered ones.
- For any meeting, we pick 2 people on the list, randomly, and say "You
are the note-takers".
- These people can swap with others, or split the job as they want, but
they now have the token.
- In the case where people don't show up, we pick someone else - again,
at random.
Over time, this should be reasonably fair, and at least saves us the
time spent waiting for someone to volunteer (instead, we spend time
working out if we have to go to the next person).
What do you think?
Harald
