Status of this issue if I understand correctly: - We [initially agreed to say that you MUST do what libwertc does](https://youtu.be/eHjg9figxLk?t=1h51m46s), which would mean opus always having channelCount: 2, primarily because that is what is already implemented. - After more feedback, Mozilla has expressed that channelCount should not be added to the spec until we have consensus about what to do with "mono signal received by stereo-capable opus, 1 or 2 channels?". In particular when asked if we could split this up into two issues the answer was no in our discussion a couple of weeks ago. The disagreement here comes primarily from implementation status quo and implementation interest in changing existing behavior, rather than the opinion that channelCount: 2 would make the most sense. The bad news is this PR is stuck on an issue that has low prio for us.
