Shouldn't the SFU understand all of the provided parameters, so it can distinguish between

1. things that it needs to handle itself
2. things that it can disregard as end-to-end parameters
3. things that it cannot handle that must be stripped or rejected

When and why would it be acceptable to omit 3?

I want to emphasize that we're talking about a security and data protection feature here where (presumably) the majority would benefit from it being active by default.
