From what I understand to be the situation prior to the automatic rollback discussion:
SLD(rollback) is only valid in have-local-offer state, SRD(rollback) is only valid in have-remote-offer state. This is simple, tidy and unsurprising.

Automatic rollback on SRD(new description) is a new thing, and we can define it as desired. I think we should define it as invoking the permitted rollback according to state.
