> Would it make more sense to have a promise-based `RTCRtpSender.getEncoderCapabilities()`/`RTCRtpReceiver.getDecoderCapabilities()` (or `RTCPeerConnection.getCodingCapabilities()`?), allowing a user agent to implement a user permissions prompt, should mitigating privacy concerns be needed and allowing more sensitive information in the future? A question here before I continue the process at the extensions spec. Would a promise-based function exist in parallel to the already existing functions? I guess it's too late to change the existing functions? -- GitHub Notification of comment by drkron Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/webrtc-pc/pull/2356#issuecomment-554997372 using your GitHub account
