Good idea. It's important to honor contributors and give a human face to 
the project.

Another way to do this (perhaps until the dynamic homepage is 
implemented) is to have a periodic "contributor spotlight" post on the 
blog. Have a standard set of questions to ask the spotlighted member, 
include their photo or avatar, include a link to their contributions, 
etc. It's a good idea to come up with criteria for who to spotlight; not 
just "best" or most prolific, but also unique contributions or backgrounds.
