https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=19464 Priority: P2 Bug ID: 19464 Assignee: schepers@w3.org Summary: Review of User Interaction Platform QA Contact: public-webplatform-bugs@w3.org Severity: major Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: richard.ainz@gmail.com Hardware: All Status: NEW Version: unspecified Component: info architecture Product: webplatform.org REF: My chat with Chrismills this day. See IRC log. In my opinion the current user interaction interface on webplatform.org is lacking in several ways. - Categorizing - Moderation - Duplication - Readibility The problems with current Q&A interface are obvious. Duplicate questions are unavoidable, spambot registrations easy, an overall view difficult. I would suggest a normal forum, like vBulletin or phpBB for this, of course visually integrated in the site. The advantages are many since Tags can be used, categorization can be created on the fly as needed and almost all users will find their way around in a commonly known interface. I think these are important advantages. You also need to establish documented processes for how to handle this. You need User oriented rules, Moderation guidelines, antispam measures, change procedures and a clear decision hierarchy. * * * Chris only needed a reminder, this is a bit more, yet maybe not all the pointers or advice I would like to give. Thanks for a good initiative. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.
