Hey all, The Web Payments Working Group charter[1] is out for review and things are looking pretty good for the official formation of the group. The deliverables section is a bit vague, so some of us at Digital Bazaar are trying to put some meat on the technical proposals based on the vision[2], use cases[3], roadmap[4], and charter proposal[1]. We've put together a very drafty technical proposal based on prior work done in this group on the Web Commerce API and some of the payment messaging work we've done. To be clear, this is a work in progress and not the position of this CG or the IG (yet). We're doing the work in this Web Payments CG since much of the source material comes from this group. Only section 3 and 4 are worth glancing at right now (understanding that there is a lot of hand-waving going on in the details): https://web-payments.org/specs/source/web-payments-api/#detailed-payment-flow Just floating this out there for preliminary thoughts on direction before we bring it in front of the Web Payments IG. -- manu [1] http://www.w3.org/2015/06/payments-wg-charter.html [2] http://www.w3.org/Payments/IG/Vision [3] http://www.w3.org/TR/web-payments-use-cases/ [4] http://www.w3.org/Payments/IG/Roadmap/ -- Manu Sporny (skype: msporny, twitter: manusporny, G+: +Manu Sporny) Founder/CEO - Digital Bazaar, Inc. blog: Web Payments: The Architect, the Sage, and the Moral Voice https://manu.sporny.org/2015/payments-collaboration/
