The point the FSM's noodly appendage has touched me to try and make whenever the topic of bitcoin comes up is, it's a public ledger system, like a registry of deeds, or small classifieds in the new york times, and each new block is an entry in this public record. That, in my opinion, is the monad, and any attempted explanation that focuses on the implementation details will miss the oxygenation for the trees. dln
