https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEwPP-h8Tzc WebPayments put their trust in Persona which have died, while WebID-TLS builds on transport-based authentication which have almost no user-base. Outside of W3C, Google, PayPal, NXP, ARM, RSA, Microsoft, VISA have put more engineering resources into U2F than the HTTPS Client Certificate Authentication browser-client got during its entire 19Y life-time, not to mention marketing. A "funny" thing is that the current U2F specification squarely matches the needs of WebPayments and WebID due to U2F's SOP-based trust model. OTOH, there are folks who claim that if you add a some JSON_LD, RDF, and Turtle to the pudding everything will work flawlessly. I'm waiting with excitement for a more detailed description how this will work in a Secure, Interoperable and User-friendly fashion. Anders
