This anecdote is sort-of on topic for the current discussion: As I am "the inventor of the online payment button" and still hold the " tipjar.com" domain, which has essentially been dormant ever since PayPal got big, when I interviewed at the Kansas City Federal Reserve for a technical support position I was asked if I thought my "tipjar" project represented a conflict of interest. As the direction I want Tipjar.com to go in is as a "superprovider" for virtual currency management (very simliar to picomoney), "Not unless the fed is planning on diversifying their offering" was my response.
