@marcoscaceres We don't do any phone number formatting in WebKit. We rely on the format that comes out of the Contacts database. Note that Contacts will enforce some formatting when inputting numbers -- for instance if I enter "408-123-4567" it will reformat it to "(408) 123-4567" (in the en_us locale). I don't what rules Contacts follows, though.
