I agree with the others that state that option 1 makes the most sense. The OP expresses concerns about polluting service workers with "unrelated" functionality, but this is very much related to the core service worker mission, of having a ... service ... worker that runs in the background and reacts to events in order to provide a service (whether that be fetch interception, geofencing, push notification reactions, or payment request processing). -- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread.
