Mark may have different views but the primary banking associations are the American Bankers Association and the Independent Bankers of America. If you want to reach credit unions, they have an association as well. "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" Talking to individual banks about how to manage the payment communication process ignores the fact that payments are a multi-party business process. Historically, in part to manage risk, in part because the world's oldest credit transfer instrument, the check (or cheque for those outside the US) was physical and needed to be exchanged, were exchanged through third parties. But even without the physical exchange (which we have for the most part eliminated) the management of settlement risk is still an important aspect of these institutions. Seldom does the four corner model really have four corners. > > Typically surveys such as this are better managed by or through organizations like banking associations and central banks, that can insure anonymous participation. Hi Mark, Thank you for weighing in. Are there banking associations you recommend that we contact (and that you could help us connect with)? Cyril has identified a few in Europe but I don’t know that we have identified any in the US yet. (Unless it’s elsewhere on the thread and I’ve not read the suggestions yet…) Ian > > Best regards, > Mark > > Mark SB Tiggas, Managing Architect - Senior Vice President > Enterprise Payments Architecture, FOSS Coordination and EA Communications > Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. > 255 2nd Avenue South, MAC N9301-045 > Minneapolis, MN 55479 > 612-316-3142, 612-850-5828 (mobile) > > This message may contain confidential and/or privileged information.
