... that's what I mean - our understanding in this group might be that, because we defined it to be that way. I doubt that 'normal' people downloading apps to their smartphones (and many deciders in most companies would be considered to be normal users, I guess) will first of all think about a new logo in their home screen. What we think of is  a 'mere technicality' for which 'payment instrument' always seemed abstract enough to represent.

I don't think Payment App implies UI. In your scenario, it seems like the Applet is the Payment App..
