WebID CG Chair appointment

Hi W3C Team,

After Henry Story, our colleague and former chair, passed away and was 
removed from the WebID CG due to an affiliation change, the CG 
temporarily lacked any chairs. Consequently, there was no one to appoint 
the current chair. I believe, but please correct me, that only you or 
the Community Process team have the authority and have taken action 
regarding this appointment. However, there hasn't been any communication 
either from the WebID CG as a group or from a W3C team back to the WebID 
CG regarding the decision on the chair. Could you please provide some 
details to fill in the missing information on how the chair appointment 
was made for the record?
