Spokesperson is just a word.  And "handover process" is - I assume -
whatever you make of it.

What I would like is for you to take lead.

I imagine your leadership consisting on a decision.  I worry that if
you choose to lead through continued discussion and debate to seek
consensus, then we will be as stuck as we have been for years.

But that's just my imagination and concern, which I share in case you
can take inspiration from it.  What counts is that I trust your gut
feeling - and will respect the outcome, regardless of what that will be.
