Hello WG, Congratulations again on the publication of the WOFF 2.0 as W3C Candidate Recommendation - this is very exciting step as the spec no longer has a disclaimer that it's a "work in progress" and can be changed at any time. Instead, this is now a "job well done" and it is entirely because your efforts and your contributions have made it possible! We have now entered a new "implementation" stage of the W3C process, this stage will last for as long as needed to get the implementations completed and have enough of them so that we have *at least* two compliant implementations passing every conformance test. It could be two perfect implementations that pass *every test*, or it could be many buggy implementations where at least two of them pass *any given test* - the W3C goals and exit criteria for implementation stage is to make sure that the text of the Recommendation is sufficiently clear so that at least two different implementers can read and understand _every conformance requirement_ correctly. (Having feature-complete, fully compliant and bug-free implementations is _not_ a requirement although that would be nice). This brings me to the point I'd like to make for our WG goals and agenda for the foreseeable future - getting the CTS test plans finalized and the tests done is the only thing we can do as a group to enable implementations pass the tests and give us green light to W3C Proposed Recommendation! So, with this in mind, our agenda for the telcon tomorrow is ... - Conformance Test Suite! Let's do our homework, review the test plans [1-4] and test status and identify those that need further attention. - AOB When: US West Coast - 13:00 US East Coast - 16:00 Central Europe - 22:00 IRC channel is #webfonts, irc://irc.w3.org:6665/webfonts or http://irc.w3.org/?channels=webfonts (We will be using IRC for scribing) Meeting Number: 646 418 341 Meeting Password: font ------------------------------------------------------- To join the online meeting (Now from mobile devices!) ------------------------------------------------------- 1.
