Hello WebFonts,
There was a brief call today. We had three agenda items but lacked new
information or participants for two of them.
There was a brief update regarding work done to ensure Brotli can be
under a Royalty-Free license in the W3C sense.
The call on 19 March is cancelled due to people travelling, next call
will be 26 March. Vlad hopes that there will be increased activity in
email before the next call.

<jfkthame> a lot of the speech is breaking up badly for me
rragent, here
(discussing if we have the needed people for the call)
Vlad: we are missing raph so hard to discuss current spec; also
wanted Sergei for CORS discussion
ChrisL: there has been some off-list discussion on helping
Google to make a RF license grant for Brotli
<Vlad> Chris: summarizing the licensing requriements for use of
Brotli in W3C WOFF 2.0 spec (and beyond)
<Vlad> IETF has both RF and RAND license terms, the RF license
if different from W3C RF license (no reciprocity).
<Vlad> W3C extended license can be submiteed to cover Brotli
and provide all the benefits of regular RF license
Vlad: so we can go ahead with WOFF 2.0 draft on the assumption
thatonce Brotli is an internet Draft we can normatively
referenced with a RF license
... ok so that deals with the third agenda item, missing
participants for the other two items
... so we could adjourn and continue in email
call cancelled next week due to regrets. Hope to have email
discussion more active
(adjourned)
