Hello all, We had a very interesting and productive discussion today with Jonathan Kew, David Kuettel, Adam Twardoch and I. A few important takeaways: - It became clear that the discussion topics we would like to cover at the F2F meetings deserve a lot of attention and would warrant a full day meeting; - We have interesting proposals from Adam, something that needs further discussion, more font developers and font tool vendors involved, and most likely require an update to WG charter; - LZMA development would benefit from additional experts being involved - both for spec development and for CTS. The minutes can be seen at http://www.w3.org/2013/06/26-webfonts-minutes.html (sorry for brevity) and also as plain text below: [1]W3C [1] http://www.w3.org/ - DRAFT - WebFonts Working Group Teleconference 26 Jun 2013 See also: [2]IRC log [2] http://www.w3.org/2013/06/26-webfonts-irc Attendees Present +1.408.921.aaaa, +1.978.790.aabb, +44.184.426.aacc, jfkthame, [IPcaller], Vlad Regrets Chair SV_MEETING_CHAIR Scribe Vlad Contents * [3]Topics * [4]Summary of Action Items __________________________________________________________ <trackbot> Date: 26 June 2013 Zakim conference bridge is acting up, drops the call as soon as the number is dialed <jfkthame> ah, so it's not just me Folks are having troubles connecting to the telcon bridge, who is the one who did get through? <jfkthame> i'd guess ...aaaa is kuettel - david, are you on a 408 area code? <kuettel> I was able to join (I think) <kuettel> Yes, that's me (404 area code) I think you did, did you dial the regular line or SIP? <kuettel> Regular line <jfkthame> this time i got "all circuits are busy".... i'm getting slightly different failures each time I got in via cell phone line, the land line is acting up for some reasons TypeCon 2013 registration is now open: [5]http://www.typecon.com/archives/3163 [5] http://www.typecon.com/archives/3163 David: reached out to Igor Pavlov to have him help us with LZMA spec, working with Google security team jfk: working with Mozilla security team to evaluate the LZMA decoder Adam: speaking about his OFF/X proposal jfk: talking about the need to validate a font on a browser side, regardless of the claims made by an author Currently the proposal is viewed more like a basis for "best practices guidelines" for font developers Summary of Action Items [End of minutes]
