Hello Working group, We are thrilled to announce that the Google Compression team posted a draft specification for the BrotliCompression Algorithm to the open source project over the holiday! https://code.google.com/p/font-compression-reference/source/browse/brotli/brotlispec.txt In preparing the specification, the team simplified the Brotli format, improved the compression further and increased the decompression speed for a text corpus (as reported earlier). Further the team has been working on a set of conformance tests for Brotli. In regards to which standardization track to explore for Brotli (e.g. IETF RFC vs. IETF Standard vs. ISO Standard), we met internally and discussed the options. The compression team is leaning towards starting with an IETF RFC, and is eager to know if that would be sufficient for WOFF 2.0 standardization via the W3C. On other fronts, I have fallen behind on starting a proposal for a new top-level font mime type. Thank you, David (on behalf of the extended team)
