Hello, My name is Sergey Malkin and I am developer on Internet Explorer team at Microsoft. I work mostly on fonts and text layout areas of IE. Before joining IE over 2 years ago I worked for 8 years on Typography team, with specialization on OpenType layout and complex script shaping. I also worked with Office team on new math layout engine for Office 2007, working mostly on font side of things and math font editing tools. I may also be heard of as owner of VOLT (Visual OpenType Layout Tool), although I do not have much time working on it since I joined IE team (Sorry, John!). I never participated in W3C working groups, but have experience working on OpenType specification and ISO OpenFont Format standard. I am in Redmond, so this places me into PST(GMT-8) time zone. Looks like I am a bit late to this party, but looking forward to working with you all! Thanks, Sergey On 9 Apr 2010, at 15:22, Chris Lilley wrote: > Hello public-webfonts-wg, > > A few folk mailed me to check they were subscribed ok and to ask what was happening. Or, you are an approved Invited Expert. Or, you are W3C staff. In any case the list membership is database backed and tied to the patent Policy; you don't need to do anything extra to join. > > We seem to have most of the organizations who said they would join, now. Also, what time zone you are in (which will help us plan a suitable teleconference time). > > (The introductions will also allow me to check that everyone subscribed can send to the list.) > > -- > Chris Lilley mailto:chris@w3.org<mailto:chris@w3.org?Subject=Re%3A%20Welcome%2C%20and%20introductions&In-Reply-To=%253C35C51A97-CD4F-43F8-B8D9-F7EEDA795DF8%40gmail.com%253E&References=%253C35C51A97-CD4F-43F8-B8D9-F7EEDA795DF8%40gmail.com%253E> > Technical Director, Interaction Domain > W3C Graphics Activity Lead > Co-Chair, W3C Hypertext CG > >
