I'm merely pointing out that: 1) JWK equally has interoperability issues, particularly around the observable state 2) JWK has issues with the fidelity and compactness of the representation (Particularly relevant for key wrapping) You're conflating normative with recommended, and those are two separate aspects. In a spec purist world, I can understand how you can arrive at that conclusion, but alas, the real world is messy.
