Ok, well as it happens I completely agree. People have written extensible
specifications for decades.

But I do not feel strongly enough about this to delay the specification.

Ryan, Anne, this appears to be a point-of-principle disagreement between
Browser vendors where the principle is not at all specific to WebCrypto. Is
there some way we can punt this disagreement to a forum with the right scope to
address the point of principle ?
