[W3C Web Crypto WG] F2F meeting take away - 30 Oct in Santa Clara

Dear all,

Thanks again for the people who attended the Web Crypto WG on the 30th of Oct. We had some interesting move and discussions, I believe there. Here is a short take away, that does not replace the actual minutes of the meeting [1].

- We resolved most of the Web Crypto API bugs as listed in bugzilla repository https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/buglist.cgi?component=Web%20Cryptography%20API%20Document&list_id=46871&product=Web%20Cryptography&resolution=---

- Editors will prepare the final version of the Web Crypto API in order to ask W3C director to exit Last Call and enter Candidate Recommendation phase.

- We decided that Web Crypto Key Discovery would also follow the Recommendation track

- We mentioned that re-chartering would not happen before Q1 2015 and a survey will be submitted to WG participants to list their wishes for charter features.

- We started discussing testing activities, mentioned a possible F2F with test contributors to gather tests potentially provided by Mozilla, Google, Microsoft and Netflix.

- We agreed to continue with the working method we use (discussion on the mailing list, call for important decision, all decisions submitted to 15 days of objection)

For the record, F2F meeting page is available here, including agenda, minutes and material used : https://www.w3.org/2012/webcrypto/wiki/F2F_santa_clara_Oct2014
Thanks again for the fruitful conversations, the great progress and the brave meeting scribes (Karen, Wendy, Nick, Ryan...).

Regards,
Virginie Galindo
Chair of Web Crypto WG
