Dear Advisory Committee Representative,

This is a Call for Review of proposed revised charters for the Web Application Security Working Group and the XML Security Working Group:

   http://www.w3.org/2013/02/xmlsec-charter.html

The XML Security group has completed its Recommendations and is re-chartered for maintenance only. The level of team resources in this new charter is 0.01 FTE.

WebAppSec adds deliverables: an extended version of the Content Security Policy specification, already in progress, and new Recommendations on Secure Mixed Content and Lighweight Isolated / Safe Content. The level of team resources in this new charter is 0.10 FTE.

The deadline for responses is 23:59, Boston time on 2013-10-21.

At the same time, we are pleased to announce two additional changes to Working Groups in the Security Activity.

The Director has extended the charter of the Web Security IG through 31 March 2015. The Web Security IG provides a forum on the public-web-security@w3.org mailing list for discussions about improvements to standards and implementations to advance security on the Web. Virginie Galindo (Gemalto) will join Adam Barth (Google) as a new co-chair of the IG.

The Director has extended the charter of the Web Crypto Working Group through 31 March 2015. The WG has revised its time line several months ago, and is currently developing the Web Cryptography API according to this revised schedule. A W3C Recommendation is anticipated for early 2015.
