> As I’ve noted before, clients don’t actually honor these hints to guide the initial UI in practice—when a platform key is present on the device, it still takes priority regardless of the RP’s preferences. Since hints are treated as purely advisory, it’s misleading to say that RPs truly have the ability to guide the initial UI shown to their users. If a WebAuthn Client has not yet implemented Client Hints, which is currently the case for some, you may see what you're describing.
