Just a note from Dashlane: we have no option but to monkey patch the APIs, as our service is run entirely via a browser extension (at least on Chromium browsers). Also having built out a passkey experience via this route, we do want to have control of the UX on desktop, as we are able to provide a consistent UX for info autofill and passkeys which is what users of the product are used to. Agree some API for this could be sensible, however, if it requires the user to hunt around settings pages to "enable" it, this would be a step backwards. In general user's tend to lose their way inside any browser/platform settings screens, when some toggle to enable the password manager is buried there. -- GitHub Notification of comment by irew Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/issues/1965#issuecomment-1734941963 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
