> That's half of what this PR is trying to achieve. Look up "discoverable credential" under Terminology here and you'll see how this PR attempts to define "passkey": > > https://pr-preview.s3.amazonaws.com/w3c/webauthn/1901/ad61c6f...0ad2938.html#sctn-terminology To reiterate from my earlier comment for @dagnelies there are no less than 4 definitions of passkey * Any possible webauthn credentials (cite https://freeipa.readthedocs.io/en/latest/designs/passkeys.html ) * A synchronised/roaming credentials (cite https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/Passkey-Management?language=en_US ) * A credential that has BE/BS=true - I can't find an obvious cite for this, android could fall into this category though in a way. * And the passkeys are resident keys as discussed here. There is no consensus to what the term means, and including it in this specification does not assist here. -- GitHub Notification of comment by Firstyear Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/pull/1901#issuecomment-1592114429 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
