The extension is already in CTAP2.0 this allows extending existing functionality to a RP. While we could perhaps look at extending web crypto, I think this logically should be part of CTAP/WebAuthn. I know the SIOP (Self Issued OP) used in SSI have been waiting for this. It also needs to be extended to native apps over the windows/Android API.
