Hi, Here are my notes from our meeting yesterday; next meeting *next week* (October 4) to get back to our regular and calendared schedule. Present: Dom, Nick, Alex Seigler, Matthew Miller, John Fontana, Felix Magedanz Meeting schedule: * next meeting next week, and then every other week (back to initial cadence) MOOC: * ongoing reviews, about to confirm schedule reviews * module 2 soon to review * plans to build a total a 4 modules in a longer schedule on EdX - module 1: intro - module 2: server set up - module 3: password-less - module 4: wrapping up ACTION: Jonh to check license terms on the course materials for potential re-use elsewhere FIDO developer challenge * challenge now complete, with results to be announced in Authenticate Conf * mostly beginners, interested in exploration & discovery, in most cases focused on add-ons to existing products (rather than critical pieces) * expected good long-term impact on adoption for participants * webauthn seen more as a feature than key focus * discussion on logistics compared to actual participants habits (e.g. Discord not necessarily as used/popular in Asia?) * what lessons for the CG? - understand the user story - impact on documentation gaps? e.g. https://github.com/mdn/content/pull/8518 was inspired by discussion on Discord * how can we help developers think out of the WebAuthn box (e.g. blob content not needing to be random) - need to target more experienced people to push the boundaries? * another idea for a future edition: using hackathon to improve existing libraries / infrastructure ACTION: John to check in with Andrew on hackathon debrief * awareness vs innovation vs infrastructure building * communication / social media key to awareness building * workshop/meetup for beginners (pointing to the MOOC) , and hackathon for innovation / more experts? Dom
